Bridging the Gap for International Student Success

The Office of International Student Services connects the academic journey with the ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ experience. Dedicated to creating an expansive global community, the Office of International Student Services supports visiting students throughout their collegiate studies by providing a range of services that celebrate many unique and distinct backgrounds, and nurtures academic, personal, and professional development.

As an institution that blends the vibrancy of a large campus with the personalized care and attention of a smaller school, the Office of International Student Services helps students flourish as members of our ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ community by connecting them with the right resources from first year through grad school. The Office recognizes the importance of supporting incoming international students so that they feel welcomed in an environment that bolsters their learning endeavors. Services include academic, social, and religious support, as well as topical seminars and VISA assistance.

You Are Welcome Here

The Office of International Student Services offers a range of support services for both undergraduate and graduate students who come to ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ from abroad. Programs include an intensive orientation program for new students prior to the start of classes each semester. Orientation is designed to introduce new students to the campus, its students, faculty, and staff, and to familiarize them with the academic policies and procedures of ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, and applicable rules and regulations of the United States government. Students should plan to arrive on campus approximately one week before classes begin in order to participate in orientation.

Additionally, the office provides ongoing academic, social, religious, and cultural support for all international students. Programming often includes seminars about OPT and CPT, student health insurance, tax preparation, and writing tutorials. Finally, we are always eager to celebrate the richness of our diverse traditions. The ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ International Student Association (MISA) helps with the planning for Diwali, Iftar, and Christmas, just to name a few.

International Exchange Students from partner institutions are welcome at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ. The International Student Exchange Program, administered by the Office of International Student Services in conjunction with ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Abroad, is responsible for coordinating aspects of the exchange students’ stay, prior to orientation through completion of their course work at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ.
